What do I teach?

As a book-worm with a background in communications and publishing (both for independent companies and large organisations such as Oxford University Press), I love teaching English.

I currently work with students studying for English Literature and Language at GCSE level, and English Literature at A Level. I have also helped many adult learners improve their writing and speaking skills – either with English as a Foreign Language or general proofreading.

Current texts include:

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Into the Wild, Streetcar Named Desire, Handmaid’s Tale, Lord of the Flies, The Pearl, An Inspector Calls, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, A Christmas Carol, Wuthering Heights, Tess of the D’Urbervilles – as well as English as a Foreign Language.

Testimonials

Turnham Green: Adult English as a Foreign Language

“I am so glad that I`ve found Amelia. She is so helpful! Really recommend her as a tutor!”

Mortlake: Key Stage Three

“Amelia is a wonderful tutor. She is really enthusiastic about her subjects and makes lessons really fun. She also comes really well prepared with original ideas to bring the subjects to life. Our daughter also adores her company.”
